EZGO TXT Brake Shoes | How to Replace Your Golf Cart Brakes
Sep 15th 2017
DIY Golf Cart demonstrates how to replace golf cart brakes in this episode. Barry works on a 2003 EZGO TXT, or “Pawpaw’s Tree Climber,” as it is lovingly called. To remove the brake shoes, Barry first pulls the pin from the backing plate behind the brake drum. After sliding the brake drum off, the drums are inspected for rust build-up. You remove any rust from the drum using a heavy-duty scouring pad. The brake drum is lubricated with moly grease before putting in the new pads. After everything is reassembled, the collar pin is reinserted. Once the tire is remounted, the golf cart is ready for the links or whatever purpose you have in mind.
