Yamaha drive clutches are better known as a primary clutch. This clutch attaches to the motor though a drive shaft. The clutch is open until the motor turns over. The clutch then closes while the secondary clutch opens up. The primary clutch functions as the carts beginning momentum. A faulty primary clutch results in loss of torque and hill climbing.
